Day long ride, but fun nonetheless. Metaled roads, scene valleys and snow capped peaks! What else could I ask for.
It takes about 2 hours from Narkanda to Rampur, another 4 of those to RekongPeo, with a couple of bad patches of roads around Raksham, where JayPee hydro projects are running and finally an hour or so from Peo to Kalpa.
Plenty of stay options in Kalpa, just enjoy the mighty Kinner Kailash views and soak in the peaceful environment.
Kalpa - Chitkul
Chitkul, the last village in India on Tibet border, falling entirely in the beautiful Sangla valley. I'd reckon Sangla is the most picturesque valley I've ever seen. Rupin river, snaking its way out of the deep gorges simply leaves you breathless.
Also, considering Chitkul is at a reasonable height (about 3600mts ASL), its usually covered with snow capped peaks around the year.
A must visit place for everyone!
And the return journey through Sarahan, the quaint little town hosting the Bhimakali Temple, offering some amazing views of the Himalayan magnificents!
